West Lochwood is an upper-middle class neighborhood in Lakewood, Colorado, on the outskirts of Denver. South Kipling Street serves as its eastern border, while South Union Boulevard is its western border. South Queen Street marks the northernmost point of the West Lochwood neighborhood, and West Jewell Avenue is its southern border.
Lochwood Park is in the northern section of the neighborhood. Green Mountain Park borders the neighborhood to the west. The Main Reservoir is just to the northeast of West Lochwood.
West Lochwood is an eco-friendly and pedestrian-friendly community. Many walkers and hikers enjoy walking along the sidewalks of the neighborhood’s own tree-lined streets. There are also trails at the Lochwood Park. There are many bus stops all along West Florida Avenue and South Union Boulevard in the neighborhood, providing easy access to the greater Denver area without the need for a car.
The Lakewoods Heritage Center is only two miles northeast of West Lochwood, while the Molly Brown Summer House is just less than three miles to the southeast. The Boettcher Mansion and the Astor House Museum are historical landmarks that are only seven miles northwest of West Lochwood, allowing for an easy commute by car or public transportation.
College students flock to West Lochwood. The Colorado Christian University is only two miles northeast of the neighborhood. Red Rocks Community College is less than three miles northwest of West Lochwood. Westwood College is five miles southeast of the community, while Doi University is less than four miles southeast.
The Heritage West Shopping Center is popular with younger residents of West Lochwood. The Green Mountain Plaza Shopping Center, Market Square Shopping Center, and Foothills Shopping Center are within a two-mile radius of the community. Neighborhood restaurants within walking distance of anywhere in the community include Subway, Papa Murphy’s, Taco Bell, Cafe Jordano, Domino’s Pizza, and Burrito King.
