Southmoor Park is in the southern part of Denver, Colorado. Its borders are Interstate 25 to the east, Happy Canyon Road and South Dahlia Street to the west, State Route 55 to the north, and East Belleview Avenue to the south.
Real estate prices in the area are just above average, and most homes were built after the 1970s. The streets have matured trees and wide lanes, and sidewalks are abundant. The area’s quiet streets make this a very pedestrian friendly neighborhood. The neighborhood features regular and luxury apartments, condos, and town.
Thomas Jefferson High School, part of the Denver County Public School system, is located in the Southmoor Park neighborhood. The school was recently ranked four out of five stars for community schools in the area.
Just north of Southmoor Park is Wellshire Golf Course, a part of the Denver Parks and Recreation department, located at 3333 South Colorado Boulevard. Built in 1926 and designed by Donald Ross, Wellshire was voted one of the best public facilities in the nation.
Denver Parks and Recreation operates over 200 parks in the Denver area, including Jefferson Square at the corner of Happy Canyon Road and Ivy Way. Picnic tables, benches, green space, and playing fields are available in Southmoor Park Neighborhood.
Just a short drive up Interstate 25 from Southmoor Park is Invesco Field at Mile High, the home of the Denver Broncos. The Colorado Rockies play their home games in Coors Field at 2001 Blake Street.
Southmoor Park benefits from many cultural resources in the Denver area. The Denver Art Museum has an extensive and ever changing exhibition floor and many educational programs. The Museum of Contemporary Art, at 1485 Delgany Street, brings an eclectic mix of photography, painting and film to the Denver area.
