Southeast Denver is an excellent corner of Denver. This side of town is home to some of the best golf courses in the area and a wide variety of other entertainment, as well. Numerous venues and a wide array of scenery makes Southeast Denver a great place to visit.
One of the best golf courses in Southeast Denver is located off of Hampden Avenue. John F. Kennedy Golf Course is located just off of Cherry Creek Lake. The course is perfect for a relaxed game of golf with a decent amount of challenge. It is a great course for players of all experience levels and is large enough for players able to take the long shots. John F. Kennedy is also part of a larger area park that includes 8 baseball fields and 4 multiple purpose fields. The large number of sports fields makes the area full of area residents during game nights. Many leagues use the fields for their youth sports programs throughout the year.
To the south of John F. Kennedy Golf Course is Cherry Creek State Park, which is home to Cherry Creek Lake. This massive state park has some of the most amazing scenery of any of the parks in the Denver area. On the east side of the park is a large hookup location for recreation vehicles. The area is usually filled with campers looking to take advantage of the beautiful park. On the opposite side of the lake is a public boat ramp that is used by many area recreational boaters and fishermen to get out and enjoy a day on the lake.
Surrounding Cherry Creek State Park and the immediate area is Cherry Creek Trail. This huge trail covers several miles and is one of the area’s best locations for walking, running, and cycling. It is common to see many active residents out enjoying the trail on a daily basis.
