Officially in Aurora, Colorado, Southeast Crossing is an interesting community. Bordered on the west by Interstate Highway 225, the area is in the shadows of the majestic Rocky Mountains.
Southeast Crossing isn’t heavily populated, but this small community is still blessed with an abundance of opportunities for outdoor activities. To the northeast, Tierra Park gives people in the community a location to get out for the day. To the west, Horseshoe Park, connected to Wheel Park and Olympic Park, also provides options for outdoor fun.
To the south are both Crestridge Park and Heather Gardens Country Club. To the west, on the other side of Interstate 225, Heather Ridge Country Club can be found. To the northwest is Jewell Wetlands Park, just east of Utah Park.
South of the last two parks is Overland High School, which serves the community’s educational needs.
Major through streets in this area include East Lliff Avenue, East Jewell Avenue, South Sable Boulevard, and South Abilene Street, which runs mostly parallel on the east side of Interstate 225.
There are a couple of great restaurants in the neighborhood, as well as places to stay, such as Extended Stay Deluxe Hotel Denver – Aurora. There are churches and medical clinics to serve the community, as well. Papa Murphy’s regional office is located in this neighborhood.
To the northeast of Southeast Crossing is Buckley Air National Guard Base. The town center of Aurora is located to the north of Southeast Crossing.
Though there are no rivers or streams in the immediate neighborhood, it isn’t very far from Cherry Creek Lake, which is situated to the southwest. Meadow Hills Golf Course is also close by.
The neighborhood isn’t lacking in landmarks and things to do.
