Old North Boulder is actually a historic neighborhood in Boulder, Colorado. It is located in Boulder County. Before the extensive development in the area, Old North Boulder was actually North Boulder. Today, it is more centrally located. The northern border is formed by Iris Avenue and the eastern border is formed by Folsom Street. The southern boundary is formed by Alpine Avenue and to the west is North Broadway Street. The community is mainly residential, single family homes and apartment units, but there are also commercial properties and small businesses in the area.
Within the neighborhood itself there are several parks. There is Columbine Park, which features a playground, picnic areas, and tennis courts. Salberg Park and Studio is within the Old North Boulder neighborhood. The park studios offer Pilates instruction. There is also a playground at the park. Additional facilities include basketball courts, restrooms, shelters, and picnic tables. Just west of the neighborhood boundaries is the North Boulder Park. It features a playground, playing fields, basketball hoops, Nordic skiing, picnic tables, and shelters. The neighborhood is only a short commute from Boulder’s famed Pearl Street.
There are many shopping, dining, and entertainment options near the neighborhood. One unexpected jewel is The Pekoe Sip House. Having been voted best tea house in the area and best tea in the metro area, they moved to the Boulder area in 2003 and are thriving. Shopping centers include North Broadway Shopping Center and the Villa Shopping Center.
The neighborhood is located just south of the main Colorado University at Boulder campus. Other schools in the area include Casey Middle School, Columbine Elementary School, Centennial Middle School, Poudre High School, and Fort Collins High School.
