North Alameda is a sprawling, primarily residential community in Lakewood on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado. It is an upper middle-class neighborhood that’s park-laden with tree-lined streets and well-manicured lawns. With the majority of its homes being single-family, detached houses, there is also a wide variety of home styles, from Mediterranean to classic, two-story American homes.
The 6th Avenue Freeway serves as the northern border for the North Alameda neighborhood, while West Alameda Avenue is its southern border. Sheridan Boulevard is the easternmost part of the neighborhood, while South Wadsworth Boulevard is its western border.
O’Kane Park and Washington Heights Park lie within the neighborhood. O’Kane Park has a picnic shelter that seats 100. It also has a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, and hiking paths. Washington Heights Park has a softball field, baseball field, walking paths, a soccer field, a playground, and a basketball court. Other nearby parks include Alameda Park, Balsam Pond Park, Meadowlark Park, and Weird Gulch Park.
The esteemed Lakewood Country Club is within easy walking distance of the North Alameda neighborhood, with part of the club bordering the community itself. Many well-off residents are members of the exclusive country club. It offers a massive aquatic center, well-kept tennis courts, and plentiful golf courses.
North Alameda is a dog-friendly community. Denver dog landmark, City Bark 8th Avenue, is only three miles east of the neighborhood. It offers a dog park area, a canine pool, dog playmates, and doggie daycare. The Berkeley Dog Park is only four miles north of North Alameda and is a popular area dog park. Earthdog Denver is less than four miles east of the community.
The neighborhood is also friendly to college students. Colorado Christian University is just over a mile west of North Alameda. The Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design is less than two miles north of the neighborhood. The Rocky Mountain Laser College and the American College of Vet Medicine are within a two-mile radius of the community.
