Laredo Highline is a well-established neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado. It has a very organized and successful Neighborhood Association that is a great way to unify the residents of the neighborhood. The members discuss important issues such as municipal code, environmental affairs, law enforcement, among several other issues and concerns of the members. The Laredo Highline Neighborhood also orchestrates several social events that encourage and promote the well-being of the residents in Laredo Highline. The association has participated in neighborhood clean-ups as well as volunteering outside of neighborhood limits and has provided speakers and activities for members of the Laredo Highline Association. The association even has its own website where members can blog about their concerns and be kept informed on upcoming events and meetings.
The neighborhood is just north of the Center Tech Shopping Plaza which houses both local businesses as well as mainstream franchises. Other shopping venues within the area include the Aurora Mall West Shopping Center, Village Green Plaza Shopping Center, and City Center Market Place.
There is a huge variety of natural parks in the area. The largest and most diverse being the Star K Ranch Park which contains several habitats of natural life including wetlands, ponds, and grass prairies. The Morrison Nature Centers offers several educational classes for both youths and adults on the topic of ecological issues.
There are several educational and medical facilities within the area including the Community College of Aurora and the Aurora Public Library. The neighborhood is also within close proximity of the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus which houses The Children’s Hospital. The Medical Campus is the largest health center in the state. The University of Colorado also has a hospital in the area to keep the mind of Laredo Highline residents at ease.
