Kennedy is a neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. The neighborhood is located north of Interstate 275 and east of Havana Street. Kennedy is known for having a lot of recreation in a very small radius.
South of Kennedy is Cherry Creek State Park which is home to Cherry Creek Lake. This massive park is one of the largest in the Denver area and hugely popular with area residents. On the northwest side of the park is a large parking lot that has a public boat launch. From here, anglers and recreational boaters head out onto the lake to enjoy the amazing scenery.
Another major part of the park is the Cherry Creek Trail. This numerous-mile trail goes throughout Cherry Creek State Park and the surrounding area. This trail is immensely popular with area walkers, runners, and cyclists. The sights along the trail make it extremely popular for area bird watchers, as well. Many will pick up the trail near the southern end of the park where most of the forested area lies. From here, they will pull out their binoculars and enjoy the wildlife in the area.
On the east side of the park is a large area for recreational vehicles. It is common to find campers throughout the area. There is also another boat launch and dock on this side of the lake.
Back in Kennedy to the southwest is John F Kennedy Golf Course. This massive golf course is one of many in this area and is also one of the most popular. The course is relatively large with a good-sized clubhouse staffed with knowledgeable golf pros. The course is designed so that any skill level can play it reasonably. The golf course is part of John F. Kennedy Park, which is also home to eight baseball fields and numerous multiple purpose fields.
