A beach for swimming is located on the northeast side of the lake. John F. Kennedy Park and Golf Course is also just a short jaunt away from the Hampden South neighborhood. This golf “mecca” has a 27-hole regulation course with a nine-hole par-three, lighted driving range, miniature golf, pro shop, and a restaurant. Several of the holes play along the gorgeous Cherry Creek.

Shopping is bountiful within Hampden South. Tiffany Plaza Mall Shopping Center is located along South Tamarac Drive on the northern end of the neighborhood. House and Home Shopping Center is located on the southern end. Just a few miles to the south of Hampden South is Greenwood Plaza Shopping Center.
