Expo Park is a neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado. The neighborhood is located between Alameda Avenue to the north, Mississippi Avenue to the south, Havana Street to the west, and Peoria Street to the east.
Shoppers from Expo Park typically make the trip out to the largest shopping center in the immediate area, the Town Center at Aurora. This large shopping mall has many of the biggest name brands and 125 stores. Some of the stores in the mall include Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, Express, Hollister, and many more. The mall is also home to Century Aurora 16, a large movie theater popular with families and area teenagers. Across from the mall are numerous other major big box retailers including Sports Authority, Wal-Mart, and Target. There are a variety of dining options in the area, as well.
Just east of the Town Center at Aurora is City Center Park. This beautifully manicured park offers very little that a normal park would offer, but it frames the city center which is a popular destination for visitors to the area. A major feature of the park is the High Line Canal Trail, which provides several miles of paved trails perfect for runners and cyclists. It is also common to see residents on roller blades and flying down the trail. City Center Park also has a playground.
Part of City Center Park is the city center itself. This is the location of many government services including the Aurora Police Department. It is where you can find the Aurora Public Library, as well as the Aurora History Museum. The public library is somewhat large and features a wide array of books and access to the Internet and computers. The museum provides a great deal of history with a focus on history in the area. Both are popular with area youth.
