East Central Westminster is located in Westminster, a suburb of Denver, Colorado. It is located in Jefferson County. The neighborhood is square in shape and bordered on the north by West 104th Street and on the east by Federal Boulevard. The south boundary is formed by West 92nd Avenue and to the west is Sheridan Boulevard. Average home sale price is $282,000.
The Carol Butts Park is located within the neighborhood and was constructed in 1977. The 32 acre park’s extensive amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, hockey center, in-line skating, pavilions, picnic tables, softball fields, multi-use fields, a playground, a tennis court, restroom and a pedestrian/biking trail.
The neighborhood park of Hampshire is located in the northern portion of the area and includes play equipment, a basketball court, multi-use athletic fields and picnic tables. The park was completely renovated in 1996.
Another popular park in the neighborhood is the Squires Park. The 16 acre community park offers rentable pavilions, picnic areas, BBQ grills, basketball courts, soccer fields, multi-use ball fields and volleyball courts. Just west of the neighborhood is the Waterpointe Bellio Open Space Area and Waverly Park Acres.
Nearby schools include Rocky Mountain Elementary School, Sunset Ridge Elementary School, Mesa Elementary School and Hyland Christian School. The Westminster City Center is near the neighborhood’s southwest border and offers many shopping and dining options. The city center also is home to several sculptures and art pieces, like the “Dolphins” which was donated by Jim Sullivan and installed in 1996. There are frescoes, mosaics and other sculptures throughout the area. In all, there are 35 pieces of art intended for public enjoyment.
