City Center is a neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado. The neighborhood is framed by Interstate 225 to the west, Alameda Avenue to the north, Mississippi Avenue to the south, and Chambers Road to the east.
Inside of the City Center neighborhood is one of the largest shopping destinations in the area. The Town Center at Aurora provides 125 different options for area shoppers. These stores provide a great deal of variety and the mall has something for virtually every taste. Some of the biggest brands in the mall include Macy’s, JC Penney’s, Game Stop, Victoria’s Secret, Gap, Hollister, Dillard’s, and many others. The mall also has Century Aurora 16, which is a popular area movie theater.
To the northeast of City Center is City Center Park. This park is home to the some great landscaping and several important government buildings. The first is the Aurora Police Department. The large police department protects many residents throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. Also in the area is the Aurora Public Library and the Aurora Museum of History. Both are popular with area students, and the city center is a common destination for many school field trips, mostly because of the museum. The library is also popular with area job seekers that use the numerous computers and Internet access to apply for jobs online. The library also offers many classes on computer usage throughout the year.
The shopping in City Center also makes it a hugely popular destination for the numerous military personnel from Buckley Air Force Base, located four miles to the east. The military personnel not only shop in the area, but take up residence here as well.
