Aurora Hills is a residential neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado. The neighborhood is framed by Interstate 225 to the east, Mississippi Avenue to the south, Peoria Street to the west, and Alameda Avenue to the north.
There are two parks that are directly in Aurora Hills. The first is Virginia Court Park off of Troy Street. This park has two baseball fields and a wide stretch of open space that is often used for soccer or football. The park is used by area youth and also by Virginia Court Elementary School, which shares land with the park.
The other park is Wheeling Park, located off of Alaska Place. This park shares land with Wheeling Elementary School and has a large field that is often used for soccer, football, and even baseball. Some residents use the field for flying kites, as well.
There is another school in the Aurora Hills neighborhood to the south. Located off of Troy Street and Mississippi Avenue is Aurora Hills Middle School. Many of the children in the neighborhood attend one of these three neighborhood schools, making it easy to walk or ride a bike to school.
To the east of Aurora Hills Middle School off of Uvalda Street is a large block dedicated to two of the largest area churches. Queen of Peace Catholic Church and Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church look across at one another. Both churches are impressive in their size and have large congregations, many of whom come from the Aurora Hills neighborhood.
Much of the area shopping can be done directly off of Mississippi Avenue just to the south of the neighborhood. This is where major stores such as Best Buy, Office Depot, Petco, Toys R Us, Pep Boys, and the Home Depot are located. There are also many restaurants in the same area.
