The Splash at Fossil Trace is one of the most popular area attractions during the warmer months. The Splash is located less than 5 miles away from Applewood off of 6th Avenue Freeway. This small area water park is well known throughout the surrounding community and is popular place for cooling off during the summer months. The park features numerous water slides, a spray pad with shooting fountains, a large swimming pool, and a big sandbox popular with younger children.

For shopping, Colorado Mills Mall off of Colfax Avenue is easily the largest and most popular throughout the area. This massive mall features nearly 200 shops, including some of the largest national name brands. Some of the stores in the mall include Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Forever 21, Factory Brand Shoes, Gap, Nike Factory Store, Sports Authority, and even a Super Target. The mall is also home to some of the best dining in the area.
