With its tree-lined streets and sprawling lawns, Eastwood is a rather small, primarily residential community of Pueblo in the 81001 zip code. Highway 47 curves, serving as both the northern and eastern border of the neighborhood. It is bordered to the west by Troy Avenue and to the south by Highway 50.
In addition to the greenery throughout Eastwood, several parks are also nearby. Spann Park is a modern, popular playground, and it is a half-mile southwest of the subdivision. Mitchell Park is a mile and a half to its south, and it offers a swimming pool, a playground, a basketball court, and picnic facilities. Mineral Palace Park is two and a half miles to its west; this 57-acre park has Lake Clara, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a covered picnic area, a playground, and horseshoe pits.
Eastwood is popular among college students due to its proximity to many area schools. Southern Colorado State College is a mile and a half to its northwest and offers several areas of study for undergraduates. The University of Phoenix, Colorado Technical University, and Pueblo Community College are within a four-mile radius.
The Pueblo Mall, a landmark indoor shopping arena that is popular among residents, is two and a half miles northwest of Eastwood. The mall has such shops as JC Penney’s, Dillard’s, Claire’s, Hallmark, Footlocker, Game Stop, Sears, and Radio Shack.
Some residents are members of the Pueblo Country Club, which lies three and a half miles west of the neighborhood. It offers an 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, and a clubhouse.
